Poor Percy

They cut off his poodle tail poof. What kind of dog groomer shaves off the poodle tail poof off a poodle? Oh well, I have just given up on caring what he looks like. I'd feel worse for him except he was laying in front of the open window this morning polluting the breeze that was drifting into the living room. I swear something has crawled up him and died and is seeping out at will.

I'm weird

I have a weird thing about sounds. One of my favorite sounds has always been the sound of tires on a gravely road. I used to ride my bike on gravel and try to turn it and make the same sound that car tires make when they turn on gravel- it was not as satisfying, but it's all I had :) When we take Tates to the softball field for practice we get to ride all over the gravely parking lot- still love the sound. But, tonight at practice there was a new sound I enjoyed- warning: I'm going to brag on my child, but it's my blog :)- the sound of all the oooo's and ahhh's when Taylor was up to bat. She was knocking them way farther than anybody else and all the parents were amazed. Yep that was MY Tates. One dad asked another dad, "is she yours?" he said no and I wanted to yell "SHE's MINE", but I didn't. I just yelled as loud as I could when she started running :) that is my way of being humble :) I was never good at sports and I was too shy or embarrassed to try, but my Tates is not afraid and she is good. She has quite the arm- during try-outs she threw her first ball and the whole crowd awwwwed. I thought I might cry I was so proud of her, and just between you and me, I did a little bit :)

Creativity

This weather has been fabulous- so I have had to be creative to get my kids outside to enjoy it. I told Tates to go out and take pictures of all the different colors in nature and I told Cagey to go find as many different shapes of leaves he could find. They both only lasted a few minutes.

But, that's not what this is about...this is about Cagey's creativity. In sacrament meeting on Sunday we sang "I am a Child of God". Cagey is constantly asking, "are we done yet?" and laying all over the bench, but when we sang that song for the closing hymn he sat up in his seat and I heard him singing his little heart out. I could only sing a few lines and then I was done. I love hearing my kids sing the primary hymns- there's nothing sweeter to me. As he was singing the 3rd verse- the line is "I am a child of God, rich blessings are in store..."- well Cagey sings it, "I am a child of God, rich blessings are in STORES...". I just wonder which store Cagey thinks he can find blessings. (for me it's Super Target:)

Gastrointestinologist

When I was a little girl I wanted to be a gastrointestinologist because I wanted to know what was wrong with my dang stomach. It was always something. I used to have these horrible sharp gas pains in my belly and I would be in AGONY laying on the couch waiting for it to pass. OR, I would be up in the middle of the night on the verge of throwing up. I spent many a nights on the bathroom floor- my mom would make me a little pad on the bathroom floor and I would sleep there all night. Today- I am so glad I didn't choose that as a profession or even a course of study. I get enough poo and vomit to last me a lifetime. My kids are the most VOMIT-O kids I know. When they were a little younger, me and Jeebs would count our many blessings if no one threw up during dinner. Today, Ezra's diaper was somehow put on wrong- one side was up his crack instead of fully over the cheek. He had a large poo and I had a large mess. I unzipped his sleeper and reconstituted raisins and totally unchanged sunflower seeds started rolling out on the bathroom floor. I have caught his vomit 2 days in a row now- he gags on something and it all comes up (following in his big brother and sister's footsteps). So- now, as a mom, I am fulfilling my dreams up to my elbows in puke and poo- and I wouldn't change a thing.

while I'm thinking about it...

Is anybody else watching Dancing with the Stars? I only watch it when I catch it on so I can watch the train wreck that is Kate Gosselin. OH my GIOSh- the jive? that she danced was the first time I saw this horrific display of grossness. Wow. Don't ever dance again Kate- I mean step away- and NOT a dance step- go do something else, fast, fast, fast- never ever dance again. Bad, bad, bad. BUT- I cannot look away and I think that's why she keeps getting voted for. I never liked her on Jon and Kate- I thought she was horrible to her husband and I got so sick of her acting like she was the best thing that has happened to multiples since fertility drugs (instead of sliced bread ha!). I feel terrible for what has happened to their marriage and those POOR CHILDREN!! get it together people!! BUT-now she is making a horrid display of herself on this show. This past week she danced the paso doble- no no no no no no no no. Her face was devoid of any emotion except for the half snarl she gave her partner at the beginning. She has no concept of body placement and she moves like a 5 year old in a tutu. Please Kate- for the love of dance- get yourself out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dinner Blahs

I am so sick of the mediocre slop that I make for dinner night after night just to avoid all the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. So as I was trying to think up new recipes to make I remembered my MARTHA STEWART EVERYDAY FOOD MAGAZINES!! Thanks to my mom I have a nice collection- also thanks to my mom I have a Martha Stewart Living collection as well...I am also loving this little face...

Anyway, back to the task at hand- I decided to run to Walmart and get a few things to make out of the March and April issues. But for tonight I decided to do a recipe my mom was telling me on the phone that she saw on Martha- a beef bolognese pasta sauce and a Paula Dean recipe, Spinach and Strawberry salad. Cagey complained and said he wasn't going to eat, but in true Cagey formhe said "actually i want some." He ended up liking it. I say again, there's hope!
Ezra liked it too :) and I am loving my new scarf from Target. I swear I'm gonna sue them for MAKING me spend so much money :)

and I'm out!!
