Socks
I hate them. I realize they're a necessary evil so your feet don't smell like phys Ed and feta cheese, but they make me crazy.
1. Find and gather all dirty socks (under beds, in toilet, by the fish tank etc)
2. Wash nasty socks and pray none get lost in the process
3. Find matches in a pile o ridiculousness because you know they are not all in there
4. Treasure hunt in drawers for 2 wonderful matching socks
5. Cram them on the feet of a wiggly, resisting unhelpful kid/baby/adult
They are too much work- I prefer sandals in the summer and boots in the winter which voids at least step number 4 to insanity.

Hysterical
Taylor got hysterical over her dinner. Apparently the idea of mookie rolling a hot tamale around in her mouth was funny. Or she should sleep later than 7 in the morning.
As a side note, Ezra saw an Olive Garden commercial tonight and said, " I throw up there." yes, yes he did and I still have the puke spot on my boot to prove it.

Mooks
Happy, freshly diapered babies are the best. I can't imagine life without the Meny mooks. Cagey always has to kiss her goodnight and Taylor wants to love on her all day long. If I could just get Ezra to accept her as a person and not a toy to be rolled over or stepped on.

Bedtime
Bedtime process starts at 7 and if we're lucky ends at 10. Ezra has issues staying in his bed quietly. Tonight as both taylor and cagey yelled that Ezra was making noise he emerged from the bedroom with Cagey's science project in tow and nonchalantly sat down on the living room floor. I was struggling with mooks to get her to sleep and frustrated asked him what he was doing and why he wasn't in bed. Without missing a beat and somewhat put out with my question he replied, "I'm making noise."
This is what I make my 2 yr old do
He doesn't want to color or play with his toys alone while we do school so he has to help me with laundry. This kid is a bull and has little problem muscling my full laundry basket through the gauntlet to the laundry room. Impressive most impressive.

Jeebus sings
Mookie was thoroughly enjoying her daddy singing during family home evening. She loves to hear him sing and so do I. The first time I sat with jeebs in sacrament meeting listening to him sing the hymns I thought to myself, this is what I want, a worthy priesthood holder who knows and sings the hymns. Later I realized he was who I wanted too and 10 years later I still love hearing him sing.

Snowmobiling for V day
Bear River Lodge is the place to be. Jeebs booked us a 2 night stay complete with a day of snowmobiling. We don't want to waste any of our time in Utah and this was a lovely (as the brits would say). Cagey had a blast sledding down the hill next to our cabin and Ezra wore himself completely out. He could have also just been worn out from being scared out of his mind after his daddy tipped him over on the snowmobile. At least they got back alive. This was my seventh trip to Bear River Lodge, I think I should get a discount on a timeshare now. ps jeebs and I shared a snowsuit that's why I look like the abominal snow monster on bottom, the hair was all me and helmet.

Adjusting
It seems adjusting back to Utah is harder than we thought it would be. Everyone has been sick- Ezra had his first stomach bug the first week we were here. Jeebs has been feeling lethargic and fluish. He finally went to the doctor today and has tested positive for strep and she also thought mono was causing the swollen glands. Cagey battled a stomach ache for a few weeks until we figured out it was probably constipation. Taylor is afraid of the master bathroom, Cagey is afraid of the jetted tub in the kids' bathroom. Ezra keeps asking "where is your house?" And, there has been very little snow. It's probably our fault. We do have new callings- well new for Jeebs. I'm back in primary as the music director which is exactly where I love to be. Jeebs is an assistant ward clerk which will be new for him. I have missed the mountains and it's nice to have such beautiful views every day. We can also see at least two temples from the neighborhood. Awesome sauce.

TimTam Slam
We found these at Super Target in Sandy today. This is Jeebs' favorite thing to eat from his mission. First you take Australia's favorite cookie...TimTams.
Step 3: use it like a a straw and slurp up some milk, hot chocolate or if you're in Australia, a drink called milo (Jeebs says it's like postum). Keep sucking until it's just about to fall apart.
Step 4: Slam it in yo' face! (I had to do it twice and it was worth every calorie.)

We are rednecks...hear us roar
Or shoot. I shot my brother's big
AK 47. That's really all I have to say about that except...be jealous. Jeebs exploded some coke cans and Page took out a pummelo. Glen took out some zombies which is pretty cool if we ever have a zombie invasion. Post UPdate: Apparently I'm not as cool as I thought and neither is my brother. I shot an AK 74 not an AK 47. Not as cool, Glen...

Sisters
The mooks and the tates love each other. Taylor always wants her sister to stay in her room at night. If only she would sleep through the night!
