Head hiking complainer

When I was little and maybe not so little I was the chief camp complainer. I hated camping, I hated nature, and I hated anything that had to do with the mountains. Now- I can't get enough of it. We did a pretty rough hike today up to willow heights lake. It was so nice up there and not a lot of people which always is a plus. But, we have a head hiking complainer- Taylor. I am getting paid back triple for all my complaining. By the time we made it back to the car she was ready to sue the person who made the trail. I've decided we might need to have rewards for the kid who does the least amount of complaining. Ezra would get first place every time. That kid just goes and goes and goes.

Maybe the key

Week 3 is over and I lost another 2 pounds. Which brings me to a grand total of 6 pounds which is pretty good for this fat white girl. Unless the scale is playing another mean trick, I'm finally at a lower weight than I was one week after the mooks was born. Can I get a wha wha! I think the secret is no carbs after lunch and going to bed hungry. It seems to work for me right now anyway. We'll see if it continues next week.

Tanned

The kids insisted I take the mooks picture last night as she sat on the death bricks. It's her favorite place to go now. She's also turning into a little Indian baby with blonde hair. I'm taking her to the tanning bed with me. And if you think I actually go to a tanning bed ... Yuck! I could never lie and sweat where someone else has been sweating naked. Blagh.

Progression pics

Not too much difference- its just my big bum, but I thought that somebody might be interested in what ripped in 30 can do. The first pic was taken almost 3 weeks ago and the second was taken yesterday. Big b big b big b is what I see! Remember that commercial?

Duhn du DUuu!!

I did week 4 of ripped. I was scared, but I gotta say...except for the chadirondak (sp?) pushups and the plank moguls- I think it's easier than week 3. Soooo maybe I'll stick to week 3 for this week as planned. I'm determined to stay with it for the 30 days, but except for my arms looking pretty cut ( when I hold them a certain way haha) I dont see much difference. I'm definitely stronger, but Dadgum! I want to see the results!

I did take a day off on Sunday and maybe I should stop doing that, but it helps me do better on every other day if I know I can have that brownie on Sunday! The brownies I made sucked though- Ezra enjoyed licking the spoon anyway.

I should do week 4 but...

Im still doing week 3 workout because it's still pretty challenging. Question- how do you get up from laying down into a squat position without using your hands? I did it once and couldn't seem to do it again. Annoying. But on Saturday I had lost another pound. I weighed again on Sunday and it was back so I don't know. And yes, I know you shouldn't weigh yourself everyday but I don't care. Right now my baby is 13 months old and the weight should be coming off by now so i'm desperate and all consumed with losing this dang weight. So the first two weeks, hopefully, I've lost 4 pounds. If I could lose another 4 pounds in the next two weeks that would be awesome sauce, but I'm not holding my breath! I just want to fit back into my clothes comfortably. Taylor asked me if I wanted to be a stick and no I don't want to be a stick. I don't think I'm in any danger of being a stick! Just want to be comfortable in my own skin.

A genuine smile

We went hiking again today and it was ridiculously awesome! The weather was perfect and the air smelled of vacation. Silver lake was our destination but as we rounded the trail we decided to hike up off the beaten path to twin lakes. We got 2/3 of the way and decided mookie wouldn't last the whole way and cagey's complaints were relentless. Ezra did the whole hike on his little 3 yr old legs like a champ. I think we may have even made Taylor a fan of hiking. Jeebs was in his element and I actually caught a real live Jeebs smile!

Oh the sweat

I guess it's good these workouts are so tough because my other videos were getting too easy to get through. But, dang uh, when I get finished with the last pike crunch my body collapses back down to the ground and cries sweat.

In cuter news- I got mookie 2 tutus from Zulilly for cheap and they are so dang cute in her I could squeal. And I don't squeal. Don't let the cute face fool you though- just seconds before this pic she was boohooing because I dared to put her down.

Raspberries!

I picked a ton 'o raspberries today and even though I did not need one bit of it I turned them into a raspberry buckle. I ate 2 bites and it was delicious.

Week 3 AHHhhhggg!!

I started week 3 this morning. Last week I worked out 6 days- 5 of those were the ripped week 2 workouts. I THINK I lost 3 pounds, but I've been here before and 2 of those pounds come back. It's a vicious mean cycle the scale likes to play on my large rumpus. But, week 3 will definitely melt my face off. You know it's bad when Jillian tells you, "unless you are a highly conditioned athlete you aren't going to be able to do this move." - it's jumping jacks in a squat position for 30 seconds...try it- you'll love it! This week I'm going to feel like a loser doing a lot of the beginner versions of the exercises. Maybe- by the end of this week I'll be there, but it's going to kick my trash around town and back again. This will probably be the week I repeat since I didn't do week one and I want to do this dang thang for 30 days. Ohhh- please help me not wuss out!! I just have to keep thinking about this big stomach - and yeah it's still this big after 8 and a half months of working out.

Smells like Christmas

Hiking in Utah is awesome because it smells like Christmas in the mountains. We hiked to donut falls today and had a blast. Mookie slept the whole way up and half the way down. I think we're on to something- put her into a hiking backpack on her daddy's back and let him walk around. Works for me!
Resting on the way back to the car.
Goobers
Mooks right after her nature nap

This is the best picture I got of the falls- no, that's not me
Lovely faces

Ripped One

Yes I had to do it. I'm not gonna lie- Ripped in 30 is spanking my trash. Maybe I should have started with week 1. Week 2 is rough...complete with a 2 minute cardio section in a plank- 30 seconds plank jacks, 30 seconds mountain climbers repeat- oh and no resting. It makes my shoulders burn for mercy. I have followed the meal plan as closely as possible. I added in a little extra fruit because I feel like if I'm going to cheat, fruit isn't too bad to add on, right? I did the workout on Monday and Tuesday then took a "break" and did my Jillian Michaels burn fat cardio workout yesterday. This morning I did the ripped workout again. Now, I just have to get through Friday and Saturday. If you want a workout to kick you in the rumpus and take names- I highly recommend this one. I watched week 4 just to see how it was going to be and the freaking advanced athlete girl could barely get through it!! I'm scared for week 3.

Bathing cuteness

Mooks sat outside by the pool with me today. She didn't get in because the water was painfully cold. We also found a snake skin out there... That's all.

Ripped in 30

I dont need to be ripped- I'd settle for crinkled. I'm starting Jillian michaels ripped in 30 program. I have been doing her workouts for a while with no significant weight or inch loss so I thought I'd dive in whole heartedly. I started with week 2 because week one seemed too easy. Week 2 was hard, but definitely doable. One exercise whooped my booty- crow pushups- google it- they suck. I took before pictures, but as I was editing them to post I just couldn't do it. The world or 7 people that read my blog don't need that image in their heads. Maybe if I have some significant results in 30 days I'll post them and taint your eyes forever. So...here's to hoping I can finally get back into my clothes!!!

Prom pictures for the "yearbook"

Since I never went to prom I had to wing it with the decorations. I know there is usually a theme, but we just went with Tessa's school colors. I also wanted to put her mascot on top of the cake, but after I got it done I thought that little potato men would ruin the look I was going for. There was murder, mystery, "dancing", and eating. I was supposed to be the yearbook girl so I got tons of pictures for our "yearbook".

Panic at prom birthday party

My little brother wanted me to help him throw a party for his wife so of course I was all about it. I love party planning and if you know me you know I'm all about the details. We decided a murder mystery would be awesome and since we had originally wanted to do a prom party we made prom the scene of the crime. Every couple invited was a stereotype from high school. It was hilarious! Taylor got to be a nerd and I got to put makeup on her so it was a win win.
