My Cagey

A lot of my posts lately have been about Ezra's accomplishments or cuteness or Taylor's goings on with her school and extra curricular activities. But, not a lot has been said about Cagey. He gets kind of lost in the mix. A lot of people don't know it because he doesn't usually talk to other people much, but he is a crazy hilarious little guy. I love him to death- he says the most random funny things. I have no idea how his brain works! A couple of Sundays ago in Primary- they were talking about "Old Bob"- an old man that lived down the street from President Monson when he was a boy. Well the teacher said "Old Bob doesn't have a family..." and Cagey out of nowhere says "well, he has a duck family!" I had no idea what he was talking about(nor did anyone else) until I thought for a second. LOL We have a duck pond by our house that has several ducks that have taken up a permanent residence there. One of the ducks looks broken and dirty and I think the other ducks must look after him. Anyway- I named him Bob one day and it just stuck with the kids. Whenever we drive by or walk to the pond we always say "Hi Bob" or "Bye Bob". Cagey was thinking about little duck Bob- during Primary. I had to laugh to myself as I figured it out. Cagey also has told me he can bake a single cake and iron a single cloe. I guess cloe is the singular form of clothes. hehehehe

The best Cagey-ism yet had to do with my friend Red. I had just gotten off the phone with her and Taylor asked me "Mommy, is Red a member of the church?" I said "yeah, she's a member." Cagey immediately asked "Mommy, is BLUE a member of the church?" hahahahahahahaha I laughed so hard!!! He didn't think it was that funny, but oh man- I love him! He can really push my buttons sometimes- with his whining that could fuel a rocket to the moon, but he is so dang funny and sweet! I just need to remember these things about Cagey and spend more time with him because he has become a MASTER of mario kart on the DS. I sat down and watched him play the other day. I was amazed that a 4 year old could win so many races and missions and know so many of the ins and outs of that game!! Good grief- I really have to start stimulating his brain a little more :)

Recently...

Ezra or the Sweetness or the Cuteness, as I like to call him has made some real progress. He's started sitting up just in this last week. He is getting up on all fours and scooting himself forward and I swear he can almost go from laying on his tummy to a sitting position! Crazy- and if that weren't enough- tonight while we were watching Tates in karate I felt a tooth in his mouth! I looked in there and sure enough- his first little tooth is peeking through! How cute and exciting- I can't believe he is already 6 months old! I thought I was going to be pregnant forever- and now my baby is 6 months old! sorry Glen for all the exclamation points! :)

Maybe I'm not a community organizer...

but if Obama wants to decrease unemployment (which is at 10.2% his admin. said it wouldn't go over 8.2% w/ the stimulus) doesn't it make sense to make it easier for businesses to hire people? I mean instead of increasing taxes and adding more regulations? Hmmm if you're a business owner and the government increases your taxes or just adds different taxes on top of things you're already being taxed for doesn't that decrease your profits? Then in turn making it more difficult to pay your employees- and thus making it so you have to let some people go. Am I missing something? probably- I haven't had all those years of community organizing to give me experience in all this. So- feel free to let me know. I'd like to know if I've just got it wrong.

Findings

I found this new blog- lovemaegan.com and I love it. She posts pics of outfits and hairdo's that she puts together herself. She also shows you how to make some really cute fashion items. As I have always been too poor or too fat or both for awesome fashion- I'm living vicariously through her :) Then she posted a link to another website that she likes and I'm in love with it too- fashionface.tv - this one shows makeup tutorials and different videos on how to do different makeup looks. As I am also in love with makeup- I spent a good hour and a half watching this girl do her stuff. There is also a link on her site for a 5 day intensive makeup course. Wow can you imagine? I'd love to do that, but it's in London and it's 995 pounds which is about $1500 I think. Here's to dreaming :)

...and Jeebs

I do exist. I haven't, until now, chosen to post anything to our blog. Nessa has done a great job on her own. There is one area where she's lacking, though. There are no posts with a time stamp between 3 and 4 am (we're on EST over here... add 3 hours to the time stamp below for the correct time). Not one. So I thought I'd step up and take one for the team.

I'm up at the wee hours trying to finish a project for work that someone else should have finished last week. He came down with appendicitis (no, it wasn't Glenn Beck) and that's a very valid excuse for not finishing. However, my superiors, in their infinite wisdom, decided that what appendix boy had been doing for the last 3 weeks was inadequate and we needed to start over. Their excuses for why it wasn't caught sooner that he wasn't performing satisfactorily? They were too busy. They tried to get him to alter his methods. So now I'm saddled with the sole responsibility (given the task Wednesday) of finishing this project by this morning (they wanted it on Friday...that wasn't going to happen). Not only that, but they decided they wanted to do this project differently from previous versions, basically from the ground up. Apparently I'm the only one at work that can do it, even though we've made 3 hires in the last 4 months that were supposed to ease my burden.

Anyway, I've wasted too much time. It's 3:48 am. I'm tired. I'm not even close to being done. I've said enough that if a potential employer found this post they'd probably overlook me because of my negativity (in my defense this is the 2nd all-nighter this week and health care reform passed the house. I have a pretty solid case for my negativity).

Taylor...

GOT HER JUNIOR YELLOW BELT!! WOOHOO!! We were so excited- her Sensei said she was ready for her belt test but that the belt test would be on a Sunday. Jeebs told him we don't do things like that on Sundays- so to let us know when the next belt test would be that wasn't on Sunday. Well, we went to karate last Tuesday and he had Tates and Bart do their katas together a couple of times and then he made the "get your camera" sign language to Jeebs. He then presented her with her junior yellow belt. She was so excited- I just wish we had known so we could've had our camera! oh well- we had the phone ;)

Other cute costumes...

Jedi, Bumblebee and Skunk

my kids have had so much candy- i wonder when the tummy ache is coming. My tummy aches and I can count on one hand the pieces of candy I've had- blagh. The kids had a blast though- until Jeebs mentioned to Tates that we had to check their candy before they ate it in case it was poisoned- she was worried the rest of the night. The poor child has inherited my horrible anxiety of EVERYTHING!! Next year Jeebs and I need to commit to a costume before the day of. We chose ice king and queen- since everybody thinks we're so serious- ha! and I could throw it together with stuff we had. I just wish I had had white hair spray instead of dumping baby powder on our heads LOL!
