Shoes Glorious Shoes

This is for my prego friend who is pukin- and prolly dookin' even though she wouldn't admit it :) hehehehe. Actually she probably would!

These green ones, Jeebs got me off of ebay- he said he thought they looked hoochie, but then he bought them.

These are my latest find. I got them in Texas at Dillard's. They're comfortable too.

These are probably my favorite. I got them on nordstrom.com last year because I have this white wrap dress and I had to have yellow shoes to go with it. I really love these.

I got these in DC at a DSW shoe store. I had only ever seen that store on What Not to Wear- so I was excited to go in and I found these little gems- and they were on SALE!!

These are not colored patent, obviously- but I really love these too. These are my black suede oxfords- kill my feet- but so stinkin' cute and retro. Okay- that concludes the tour of my Sunday shoes. I've really got to get over this. ENJoy!

Today

Today was just a Tuesday. I have to say- it was one of those uneventful days that are just nice. We have breakfast, I clean house, then workout- the kids swim- we have lunch, then baths and then nap time. I love these kinds of days. The only thing that has started knocking us off our schedule is Cagey's poop schedule. Every time we lay down for naps, he poops. He won't go to sleep and then he eventually gets up and poops. Then at 3 or so he'll finally fall asleep- it's getting a little annoying.
Yesterday he didn't take a nap. I don't like those days :) But, during naptime I sometimes order movies on pay-per-view so I have something to watch while my child hopefully nods off to sleep. I ordered Penelope- seemed like an interesting concept- not a fan of Christina Ricci, but thought I'd give it a try. OH my gosh- I have a new favorite James- as my James is Jeebs :). James McAvoy- the main guy- holy hannah- he is goooooood. He was also in Becoming Jane and Atonement. I loved him in Becoming Jane, haven't seen Atonement, cuz it's rated R. I would like to see it just because of him, but oh well, but daaaaaaanguh!! If I were his wife- I'd be like- honey I enjoy all the money you are making, but if you kiss your co-stars anymore convincingly I'm gonna have to leave you. He is just so intense and goooood. When I first saw him in Becoming Jane, I thought- gag this guy is the lead?? He's not real cute, big nose, scruffy face, wimpy type build- but the boy can act!!! Anyway- check 'em out--James McAvoy.

SOOOooooo....

Saturday we had perfect beach weather. We haven't really gone that much at all this summer and I really wanted to go. I really wanted Jeebs to go because it's just better - partly because he's with us and also because I have one child who loves being in the water and one who loves staying on the beach. But, he has a huge project due on Monday and he really needed to stay home and work. Well, I made him mad enough at me that he decided to go :) yeah- I'm a wonderful wife :) Anyway, we drove down to Fort Macon and couldn't get into the park because the stinkin' parking lot was full. After driving by about 4 or 5 times (around 30 min) we decided just to park down the road at the actual Park and hike back up the beach to get away from the posted 'hazardous currents'. It actually turned out better because there were very few people. It was nice, but really HOT! And, jeebs will be up tonight working on his project :( So here are a few pics of taylor enjoying the water and Cagey ready to go home 30 min after we got out there. Then the last pics are of my closets I got organized with the help of my momma AND my new dining room chairs- HOORAY!

Shoe Fetish

Living here in New Bern, I am convinced, has made me develop a shoe fetish. Since there is no good shopping to be had, everything really cute has to be ordered online. The easiest thing to order and know it's gonna fit-is shoes. Lately I've been into wild colored patent leather shoes. I have a green pair, yellow pair, red pair, and most recently a hot pink pair. I love them all! But, for fall I am already busy looking- for the shoes that I'm going to love and never buy so here is the latest pair of shoes I've found. Aren't they stinkin' cute?

Sore bum

I have recommitted myself to working out. While I was pregnant I kind of slacked on my work outs because I was soooooo exhausted all the time. Then when I miscarried I didn't do anything for almost 2 weeks. So, this week I have worked out every day with a different workout-except Tuesday, that was the first day of pony camp and I think I was close to having a heat stroke. The consequence of working out intensely after doing nothing for 2 weeks and doing something different every day??? SORE BUM, sore legs, sore back, sore errrrrrrrrrything, which usually I really love a sore body because that means you're pushing yourself and getting stronger muscles and hopefully burning fat (haha)- but this has been a little miserable. My bum and legs feel like they've been beaten with a baseball bat, but they still look like I've been hit with a waffle iron. Hopefully it'll pay off. I have also recommited myself to dieting hardcore, but every time I do that- it's like my body knows I'm going to deny it something and it just starts screaming out BAKE SOMETHING THEN EAT IT UP- NOT A LOT JUST ENOUGH TO SABOTAGE YOUR DIETING. So I'm typing this with a sick feeling in my stomach because I just had a handful of chocolate chips- dangit.

Generally when I get really mad and push past the first few days I do ok. But, with all the things that have been going on- I just want to bake. I want to make bread, which I did, I want to make cookies-which I haven't yet, but will eventually:) I want to just bake something- I made flourless chocolate cake yesterday and I had a total of 2 pieces in 2 days- yeah, had to throw the last 2 pieces in the disposal so I wouldn't eat them. Usually I have wonderful self control, lately not so much- could it have something to do with being depressed? hehehehehehe. Just gotta snap out of it.

Pony Camp

Today Tater's got to go to Kimberly Norman's awesome Pony Camp!! She was so excited the smile couldn't get any bigger on her face. She had so much fun and did really well riding. It was so HOOOOOOOOOOOOT!! I don't know how Kimberly does it- beebopping around her barn like she does. But, Taylor enjoyed every minute of it. They got to groom, ride and hose off their horses. The other little girl in the pictures is Kimberly's cute little girl, Grace. Taylor got to ride a pony named Honey today. They all had a bit of attitudes today- probably because of the heat!!

Oh the joys of a disgustingly neglected swimming pool

Our next door neighbors have just up and left. They had one of those ghetto swimming pools from walmart that are all the rage- the 300$ ones. I'm not knocking it because I really wish I had one, but they are sort of an eyesore. Anyway, the wife left and I guess the husband couldn't afford the place by himself or something- so one day they were here and the next day all their stuff was gone- except for the junk by the road and their ghetto swimming pool. Jeebs went over to look at it- there were about a million tadpoles swimming around in nearly black water. Nasty. Well, Jeebs caught some of them in the kids' sand buckets and here is Cagey and Tates enjoying the disgustingness that is tadpoles :)

Happy Birthday to Cagey and Glen!!

My baby is 3 today and my brother is 32 hehehehe, he's old. Thought I'd post some pics of Cagey.

This is Cagey with his Uncle Glen on his first birthday. Glen's little boy, Cooper, was NOT happy about the seating arrangements.

Cagey at 2.

Cagey had an elephant birthday. His cake was peanut butter with chocolate frosting and chocolate covered peanuts all over. He didn't eat any of it- this is him posing so it would look like he ate some. I love him- but seriously he is such a punk sometimes.

A day at the beach

I decided to get out and do some relaxing with my kids. We haven't been to the beach all summer and it is the middle of july!! SOOOOO- I bit the bullet and drove the hour to the beach. It was totally worth it. Tates was a scream boogie boarding and Cagey got so much salt water in his eyes he looks high.

I love going to the beach and people watching. I always worry about how awful I look in my bathing suit. Luckily here in NC peeps at the beach aren't too worried about body image. There is an occasional person that walks by that is hotter than me (and I do mean occasional :) which makes me think "really, should a 14 year old girl look like that?" It's really so unfair.

At one point I was sitting and watching this dorky dude standing on a big surfboard with an oar, paddling around about 50 feet out. I started thinking "man, it would be so cool if a shark just came up and slammed right into his board sending him flying (and of course out of harm's way) into the water." I don't know what the heck it was, but it was one of those strange, dorky things people do that makes you think "I wish I had a stick"-I had the same thoughts watching people ride segways down University Ave. in Provo. Really my brother, Glen, would be the only one to get any of this :)
