Hooray for makeup

I am on a mission to make blue eyeshadow look good in all situations. And, I paid Taylor to be my guinea pig as I tried out an evil queen look that was in my Martha Stewart mag. I need a new gel liner now. I have officially used all of my sister's old liquid liner. I am missing her today and always- 8 flipping years.

My morning project

I also made bread- feathers and bread making do not mesh well together. I thought it turned out cute- Jeebs did not.

Fishing ( rednecking part 2)

Some of us go fishing for the snacks and some of us go fishing for the, well the fishing. I always went for the m&m's, buy I think Tates may really enjoy fishing- at least in a stocked pond. I don't care what my brother says- if you're wetting a hook in a pond to catch fish then it IS fishing! The first fish I caught I had to real in by hand because my line got tangled and I was so excited I freaked Ezra out so it's a good thing I got that pic of him fishing. He'll probably never fish again. Sorry- I get really excited when I catch something. You would too if your older brother kept smirking at you every time he reeled in his catch... Adding every time, "Not like it's hard, Nessa." ohhhhhhh- I caught 7 and glen caught a billion. Taters caught the biggest and all the kids old enough to fish caught some too- it was awesome and I didn't even have any m&m's.

Temple quarry trail

We went to the temple quarry trail up Little cottonwood canyon for FHE. It's a little loop around the area that the pioneers  quarried the granite for the Salt Lake temple. The most exciting thing was sitting in the middle of what is usually the Little Cottonwood river. Jeebs commented that the church needs to buy this land and do it up right! The signs around the trail have a little information about the quarry, but there could be a lot more done with it. I read online that you should be able to see where they have cut on some of the rocks or something like that. I didn't see any of that. We also looked for mountain goats and alas, we didn't see any mountain goats. Jeebs also had to make a quick get away to the bathroom, a pit toilet to end your evening, yuck.

A hike with no name

Saturday we went up American fork canyon to hike to scout falls again, but alas, the parking lot was closed and there was no parking. We did however almost get run over by a dump truck hell bent on not stopping on the one lane road. He stopped only a few feet from our bumper. Sorry dude- you had to down shift to spare our lives. Glen and Tara and gang came with us so we decided we'd go to cascade springs, but on the way we saw the summit trail and decided to give it a whirl. After carrying in our own toilet paper to the pit toilet and walking around the "smart" car caravan we headed off on the trail. There weren't any streams, lakes or waterfalls but plenty of horse lockey to step around or through if you liked. It was a nice trail and we made it without anyone being mauled by a bear. Which is good because being mauled by a bear would suck.
Ezra, Cooper, Tates and Cagey posing in the trees.
Cooper highly enjoyed riding the horse trees.
The Mooks- apparently grossed out by something.

This is where we stopped and snacked in the shade- it was so pretty and nice!
The pack horses with the babies, just chillin'.
Ezra- dirty face and all.
And the Mooks jacking Aunt Tara's drink.
