This is school

Cagey is doing a delicious history project and I'm thinking he's going to win cupcake wars some day with how much he loves to bake. This project was to find a recipe with corn and make it for your family. We chose corn meal pound cake. It was yummy.
Also, we got to go to the Ogden temple open house. It was cool to show my chillens everything in the temple since it will be a little while before they can go. Actually Taylor will be able to go in less than 2 months, which is crazy.

And yes, I counted it as a school day field trip.

Pretty sure this is just a dream

I am still in denial that summer vacation is over. We are still trying to get into a routine, but after a marathon morning of visiting teaching we got a little off track. But, but, I got my visiting teaching done.
Mookie is so in love with her new shoes. I always find a ton of pics on my phone after she's played with it and I found this little shoe pic today. She was calling them her glass slipper.

Tonight we drove up to the Mt. Timpanogos temple for FHE because mookie has been asking to see the temple nonstop. Cagey felt sick so he stayed in the car, but I snapped a pic of these three actually loving each other for a second. The blessings of the temple never cease to amaze!

Going fishing with my Taylor...

We can walk to the river from our house. It's awesome. The cleanliness of my house is probably suffering, but the fish are calling so...
We caught 7 between the both of us. Taylor's fish was bigger.
I think we need to take these with us next time- they're huge! Maybe they'd help us catch huge fish. It couldn't hurt.

Mooks in the morning

She is such a toot, notice the stack of books behind her? Yeah we have to get started with school. Blagh.
But first, I finally hung the baskets I got for the boys' room. I hope they hold up, pretty sure I got them in a stud, but this is me we're talking about.

I was gonna quit the dark chocolate today

But then I remembered it was the first day of school. I will never understand people being so excited for school to start. How is getting up early, driving to the school twice a day and the rush rush rushing to get homework done before bedtime only to get up and do it all over again worth having a little more quiet day? I don't want it please, but here we are. I made the most yummy overnight waffles for breakfast to start them off right. They weren't as excited about it as I thought they'd be, but I tried. They get ift from their dad I guess.

Noooooo!!

Say it ain't so!!! I'm not ready for school to start at all. But start it did. We tried not to waste any of it.
Tessa's baking lesson. She doesn't really need them, but we had fun making a cake and some biscuits all from scratch. Down with baking mixes!!
We hit up bridal veil falls and Ezra was in heaven splashing around in his water shoes.
One of the most perfect cucumbers I grew. It was delicious.
After winning a $100 gift card to Mickey D's randomly we ended up here after out Provo river trail bike ride. It. Was. Nasty.
Mookie was also in heaven splashing at the bottom of the falls. She even managed to fall on her back in the water and get saved by a cute Hispanic man.
My first pepper on the pepper plant. It was delicious even though it's supposed to turn yellow. I couldn't wait any longer.
Taylor and I have become fishing fanatics. We sneak away any chance we get. We haven't caught much, but I'm getting really good at re-rigging lines. Actually Taylor is the new fish whisperer, she almost always catches something.
This is just proof that summer can't be over yet because my squash plant is finally producing some dang squash!! I will live in denial a little longer.

I saved my family from a fox errr coyote

Jeebs wanted to take the kids to see the first point of interest up close on our self guided dinosaur national monument tour. I was content to stay in the car and so was Cagey. He pulled over and they jumped out. Crossed the street and hiked up towards the cave dwelling in the rock off the road. After a couple of minutes I looked up from chapsticking my lips and see it. A fox...in broad daylight. It wasn't red, it was huge (for a fox), haggard looking and walking straight at our car. I honked thinking it would scare it away from my unprotected family across the road. It jumped then stared us down as it peed in the road and change pathways towards Jeebs and my kids. I started honking more rapidly, beep beep beep beep BEEEEEEEP. It finally turned and went to the other side of the car and into the wilderness away from my family. Meanwhile Jeebs is looking at me with his hands in the air wondering what the heck is going on and why am I not just calling him on his phone. Sorry I was just too preoccupied trying to save you to call. I finally felt like it was gone enough to answer the phone and told Jeebs to make a mad dash for the car because a fox is lurking around right next to us. He didn't seem too grateful for my heroic feat.

Later as I relayed the story to my inlaws they asked, "Are you sure it wasn't a coyote?". I wasn't sure because it was a weird looking fox and a little more dog like than I thought a fox should look. I googled coyote images and low and behold. Coyote! I saved them from a dang, possibly rabid (I don't care what anybody says) coyote. Like a pioneer woman!!! Unlike a pioneer woman I thought it was a fox. Don't judge me. I've never seen something as scary as a coyote up close so I naturally assumed it was just a rabid fox. I didn't know how truly heroic I was. My honking the horn at the coyote story will be passed down through the ages!

A hail of a hike!

Saturday's adventure started with a quick trip to the store for back-ups (snacks) and ended with us running for cover in a hail storm.

Diiin-uh-sarrrs!

We went to Vernal UT yesterday to see the dinosaurs. It was almost like Jurassic park...almost.

How I shop...now

Now that I have an abundance of children and am iPhone I can leave Jeebs at home and just send pics of items for him to approve or disapprove. So this is what I end up with on my phone...(I apologize in advance to the parentals for all the selfies because I know their just hear to see the grand chillens)
This is the moment I buttoned and zipped a size 0 on my booty. Granted it was at the Tommy Hilfiger outlet and I'm pretty sure their stuff runs big, but I'll take it. (The cut of these jeans were no good)
I really likes this sweater, but that other stuff in the background ewwww.
The reason for the shopping trip was a good hair day I couldn't let go to waste. You know what I'm talking about.
Mookie ended up being the only one who got anything. She was such a patient shopper she deserved an outfit.

So this has happened this summer

7 total visits to the dentist, 14 novocaine shots in the jaw, 4 root canals, 2 sets of temporary crowns and 1 final set of 4 individual permanent crowns has made up my summer.
I went to the dentist 2nd week of June and found out I had 4 abscesses under my very old root canaled teeth plus one of my non-root canaled teeth. There was no pain, there was no decay. Bacteria had just gotten under my teeth and spread to the tooth next to it. So a total of 4! I couldn't believe it. I had to get 4 root canals and there was talk of pulling teeth and doing implants or bridges. I have hardly any teeth left under those babies, but here's to hoping they'll last a long time. Life is so weird sometimes.
