Hiking season is upon us
It is almost time for summer hikes, but today we did a spring hike. The weather was perfect and the trails were calling us. This one was near the Draper temple and lead to Ghost falls. Ezra hiked it like a champ and then sacked out in the car on the way home. Taylor took pics with her DS and Mooks was just along for the ride. Cagey decided he was too tired and opted to stay home locked in the house. This one scratched the itch, but I'm definitely ready for higher altitude hikes.

Chocolate lovin' yellow shirt wearin' twinkers
These are my chocolate loving crazies. Mookie and cagey look so much alike! When I drop the kids off for school mookie whines, "Tagey goooone!" Over and over. She loves her big brother.

Best left handed compliment
So many pictures of myself- this is getting a little out of hand, but oh well- there aren't that many of them in my older posts. Jeebs and I were getting ready for church this morning and I was looking at an old family picture. I asked him if I looked thinner now than in that pic. He told me, "Yeah, you look like you have been living in Africa and eating what they eat for a couple of years." Ha! Thank you, I think. This skirt has been snug ever since I bought it about 6 years ago. It's such a good feeling to not be able to fill it all the way out.
I felt really thin this morning, but then I had my chocolate catastrophe and I swear I've gained ten pounds back. I'll be regretting it tomorrow when I'm working out with 3 pounds of undigested chocolate laying in my gut.

This is my Joanna face
When I bought this shirt 3 years ago I couldn't button the boob button. I lost another 2 and a half pounds this week. 130's next week! (I hope) Five pounds to my goal and I think I may try for a bit more but, when I hit 135- a big A burger will be going down this gullet. Then it will be back on track, JACK.

One of a kind
Taylor is truly one of a kind. She came out last night with her BYU shirt stuffed with fake shoulder pads to make her look like a football player.
And this is me after my workout this morning. I'm still doing the circuits that Jillian gives me everyday online. I feel like I could probably do some more cardio in the evening if I ever had a chance to fit it in...maybe when school is out. 26 pounds down- 7 to go. Saturday could be the day I hit the 130's, but I don't want to get my hopes up too high. That would be another 3 pound loss and I just had that last week. I haven't been able to get out as much this week because the weather has not cooperated. We'll see...as long as it doesn't go up- I'm good! Can't wait for my chocolate on Sunday, I have really needed chocolate this week!

12 sticks o butter
See that slanty red line? Yep, that's my weight- going down that red line. WhOOP WHOOP! I lost another 3 pounds this week and I was sort of in shock. I felt like I was actually losing this week, but I didn't think it would be 12 sticks o' butter! I'm thinking I have just been eating a crap-ton o' food for most of my life. I will forever more consider snacking and portion sizes. I always said I ate well so I could eat a lot and that didn't get me too far, apparently. Anyway- 7 more pounds to go!! 7!! That's a 1 digit number!
It was a good Saturday breakfast- I had time to heat up some turkey bacon to go with my every day breakfast of 2 eggs and 1 piece of ezekiel bread toast. Jeebs made pancakes for himself and the kids. I taught him how to make pancakes and now his always turn out prettier and better than mine. Arghhh- why does he have to be good at everything? He made a huge perfect pancake for himself and he didn't even have to use the perfect pancake pan.

Viewer discretion advised
This may be too awesome for some eyes. No, really I'm posting this so I can always remember that at some point in my life I had muscles in my arms. Thanks Jillian, but I still can't do a pull-up. (Mooks is just happy to be here...and naked.

No jigglin' while you wigglin'
I am a fan of these workout pants- the kids are not. Within 10 minutes both of my chitlins had made comments about my pants- or according to cagey "not pants". But, they are so nice to exercise in and so comfortable, I can't be worried about them.
Also, the mountains are calling me. I need to be on a hiking trail or in a mall ASAP. Seeing how the mall usually costs me money- I should probably opt for the trail. I tried a pull-up again today. Ezra took my picture and cut off my head, but you aren't missing anything. I pretty much just hung there, again. Any tips are appreciated.

Sunshine Mmmmm
Yes, I was bored waiting for my kids to get out of school and started taking pictures of myself. Oh well, I am documenting the sunshine today.
I didn't have to workout today so I headed to target to return some things I didn't want and decided to run into old navy. I found a pair of pants for $9!!! I also wanted to get some new workout clothes because that is always more motivation to workout. But, workout clothes are so expensive and it's hard for me to hand over the cash for something I'm just going to sweat like a hog in. Oh well- I gave in and got some compression capris for $17. Which is still too much to me, but maybe now I can run in public and not embarrass my husband. (Maybe the next step is wearing socks while I workout and run...maybe not.)

Pull-ups dadgummit!!!
Pull-ups haunt my life! I'm not talking about the poopy kind- I'm talking about the "we'll help you up there to the bar so you can hang for a minute while we count the amount you can do" which will be zero! Kind. In elementary every year there was a fitness test. We had to run, do sit-ups and among other things Pull ups. I hated it every year. I'd hang there trying to will my arms to bend just a little to make me even a centimeter closer to that bar. They never moved. I hung- they ticked off a minute on the stopwatch and my teacher would write down a big dang zero by my name. Ughhhh.
Fast forward 25 years later- wow I'm old- and still I hang and will my arms to pull, but alas, they do not move. I thought after all the Jillian workouts and semi definition in my arms something would change. I will admit I can get a centimeter closer to the bar and that's it. I guess a centimeter at a time right? I'm determined to do one before I die. So' centimeter a year- 40 years? I'll be 74. You better recognize I'm going to be the saggy baggy 74 year old doing A pull-up.
I bet Ezra can do a pull-up when he's 5.

They gone!
Another 2 pounds, that is. And 11 years later and I can still get this thing on.
The belly is there to stay for a while. There have been 4 watermelons in there ripping it up. I gotta say this losing weight business is a crapshoot. I really thought I was hitting another plateau because I didn't feel like I was losing any weight and my inches weren't going down. But, when I stepped on the scale this morning I got good news. Soooo, ten more pounds to go to my goal. It should probably be like 20 or 30 more pounds since I'm only 5'3, but I'm good with ten pounds. I have a feeling they're going to be a pain in the you know what to get off, but those 4 watermelons came forth from my loins with no drugs so, bring it! (Just kidding, it'd be really nice if those 10 pounds will just come off)

In the ghetto
Ezra plays Outside in his cut off sleeper with no socks...and an eternal crystal light mustache.
And just in case you're interested...today was my weigh in and I lost .6 pounds. WHOMP! I lost another .25 inches off my waist and hip (I think) so I'm not going to get too down. I was having a bad day on Wednesday when I weighed and had GAINED 2 pounds. WHAT? How in the world do you count every calorie and still gain. Whatever. Losing weight is an endless torment. You eat too much you gain, you eat too little you don't lose and possibly GAIN!! It makes no sense and I hate it. I'm starting to hate food. The stuff I really want to eat some days I can't have and the stuff I can eat I get tired of. I made steak with roasted carrots and warm cabbage apple coleslaw. I could barely choke down the coleslaw which I usually enjoy. I think a trip to 5 Guys is in order...soon.
